Spain continues to defy British FCO! Making a joke of DIPLOMACY!
So today is Friday 2nd August and yet again the Spanish Government issue the orders to continue to create queues at the Border!
The photo below shows how far the queue goes when they do their go slow so that the queues brings Gibraltar to its knees!

Once again a Country who claims to be a democracy and within the European Union is allowed by UK Government, FCO, Our Governor and United Nations to allow inhumane and cruel treatment to all those people caught in the queue.
The BULLY that we have been highlighting for hte world to see - continues without SHAME to behave in this manner that would not and is not acceptable by any other country!
SPAIN continues to lie and twist and do a great SPIN of facts just to try somehow to convince people that they are doing no wrong!
A country does not have to belong to SCHENGEN to suffer no queues! This is a very poor excuse and SPAIN know it!
Gibraltar although a British Territory is actually a recognised part of the European Union! This is why we have been accepted int he UEFA!
There are many other Countries not in Schengen and do not suffer what we suffer of intentional Queues.

GUARDIA CIVIL OFFICERS ARRESTED
Officers from
the Guardia Civil have arrested six people, including two of their own
colleagues in the province of Pontevedra, in relation to an alleged
disclosure of confidential information in connection with criminal
investigations, some relating to matters of drug trafficking.
The arrests have been made over the past few days as a result of
investigations into the fight against corruption that may occur inside
and outside the institution, resulting in two Guardia Civil officers
being amongst those charged.
Four others were also arrested, all residents in the province of Pontevedra, for the alleged crime of disclosing secrets.

URGENT PRESS RELEASE FROM THE DEFENDERS OF GIBRALTAR
It has recently been brought to our attention that there is a small
group of people who have been taking photographs of the Guardia Civil /
Policia Nacional at the Gibraltar / Spain Frontier and using said
photographs to incite harassment against these individuals in a pamphlet
uploaded to a website. We have also been made aware that photographs
taken by Gibraltarians and uploaded to facebook have also been copied
and used without prior permission or consent from their authors and
included in aforementioned pamphlet.
We would like to take this
opportunity to make it extremely clear that these individuals are in NO
WAY associated with the Defenders of Gibraltar. We are a non-violent
pressure group, which aims to highlight to the world what we perceive to
be a continuing strategy of harassment from Spain towards Gibraltar.
After seeing the pamphlet in question, I cannot understand how these
individuals think that such a tactic would bring anything other than a
heightening of tensions.
The following are the brief results of
investigation work conducted by a member of the DoG after being made
aware of the possibility of individuals wishing to incite violence and
increase already heightened tensions. All information below has been
handed over to the Royal Gibraltar Police today on 02/08/2013.

would also like to take this opportunity to ask people if they come
across the pamphlet whilst looking through the links below, NOT TO
DISTRIBUTE – I must stress that this nefarious pamphlet has been seized
upon by the Spanish Ministry of Interior as a threat to security of
their personnel and urge all to think carefully about what it is they
post. Spanish Minister for Interior released the following statement

FCO Political Director Simon Gass today summoned the Spanish
Ambassador to the UK, H.E. Federico Trillo, in order to underline the
British Government’s serious concerns regarding delays at the
Gibraltar-Spain border, and to seek reassurances that there would be no
repeat of the additional checks this weekend.
Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister of State Hugo Swire, said:
“From 26 to 28 July, and again on 30 July, there were long delays at
the Gibraltar-Spain border of up to seven hours, as a result of wholly
disproportionate checks introduced by the Spanish authorities on
vehicles both leaving and entering Gibraltar.
“Disruption to border flows has a direct impact on the prosperity and
well-being of communities on both sides of the border. The UK
Government’s position is that these delays are unjustified, unacceptable
and have no place at a border between EU partners.”

FCO in November 2012 following two serious incursions into British
Gibraltar Territorial Waters.

There were delays of up to seven hours at the Spain-Gibraltar border last weekend
Spain's
ambassador has been summoned to the Foreign Office to give assurances
there would be no long delays at the border with Gibraltar this weekend.
Ambassador Federico Trillo was told of "serious concerns"
about checks on vehicles that led to delays of up to seven hours last
weekend.
Gibraltar linked the delays to Spain's anger over creation of an artificial reef in the waters off its coast.
But Spain said it had been "fulfilling its duties... to monitor its borders".
On Friday, Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire said: "From
July 26 to 28, and again on July 30, there were long delays at the
Gibraltar-Spain border of up to seven hours, as a result of wholly
disproportionate checks introduced by the Spanish authorities on
vehicles both leaving and entering Gibraltar.
"Disruption to border flows has a direct impact on the prosperity and well-being of communities on both sides of the border.
"The UK government's position is that these delays are
unjustified, unacceptable and have no place at a border between EU

Gibraltar's government had accused Spain of "torturing"
vulnerable passengers by causing the "unnecessary" hold-ups to thousands
of people.
There has been recent tension between Spain and Gibraltar
over fishing rights, and Spain has lodged a complaint with the UK over
the creation of the artificial reef which it says stops "Spanish
fishermen fishing in a manner that is contrary to our law".
Spain disputes UK sovereignty over Gibraltar, which has been a British colony since 1713.

internal frontier of the European Union.

Our Foreign Minister called his counterpart from Spanish Government and yes it stopped the big queues into Gibraltar last Sunday but it has not stopped the excessive controls!
