More Smuggling problem in SPAIN - Bilbao

Spain needs to concentrate on their own problems FIRST!

Spanish customs authorities in the port of Bilbao apprehend 5 hauls of contraband tobacco exported illegally from Spain to Ireland.Haul No 1 was made up of 5.1 million packets of cigarettes with a value of 35 million Euros. The 2nd haul was made up of 4.5 million packets with a value of 30 million euros. The 3rd haul was made up of 360,000 packets with a value of 1.4 million Euros. The 4th haul was made up of 72,000 packets with a value of 284,400 Euros. The 5th haul was made up of 215,600 packets valued at 937,860 Euros.I wonder how many millions of packets of cigarettes were exported from Spain before their authorities ''clamped down'' on the scam! Isn't this enough evidence to demonstrate once and for all that contraband tobacco is not the reason the frontier controls between Gibraltar and La Linea.

They discover a snuff smuggling route between Bilbao and Ireland

They have seized 5.1 million packs valued at 33 million euros
Research carried out by the Inland Revenue have uncovered a route snuff smuggling through Port of Bilbao to Ireland. Thus, they have seized more than 5.1 million packs worth close to 33 million euros. The higher price of snuff in Irish territory, as well as good road links that comprise the Port of Bilbao and high merchant traffic in this route have become attractive for smugglers.
The trigger to detect this pathway came with the operation 'Truyeye', in which the tax officials in Euskadi dismantled an organization that had sent through the port of Bilbao to Ireland twelve containers loaded with 4.5 million packets of snuff , with an estimated valuation of 30 million euros.
Following this operation, intensified checks at the port which allowed discover, on February 8, another container loaded with 360,000 packs, with a value of 1.4 million euros, also bound for Ireland. The operation resulted in the seizure of 72,000 Barcelona packs, valued at 284,400 euros and the arrest of three people. These arrested had no links with those responsible for shipments detected in 'Truyeye', but the mechanics were the same.
Finally, on February 28, Basque Customs Surveillance detected 215,600 new container that hid packets of snuff with a value of 937 860 euros. According to the customs documentation, the container should carry rockwool, but only included two pallets of this insulating material used for construction. The goal was to create a simple screen to hide contraband. By using the scanner, you could discover the hidden snuff.
The snuff smuggling rebound may be due, among other reasons, to the current economic situation, which has led to the search for new sources of revenue fraud. Two determining factors for organizations have opted for the sea route and the market of the British Isles is the economic factor as the average price of a pack of snuff legal in Spain is four euros and Ireland the average price rises to 8.5 euros.
The second factor is logistics. With this route smugglers benefit from the extensive network of road links that comprise the port of Bilbao, the high frequency of the search that leave to the British Isles and a high container traffic.

So if Spain spent more time looking at their own problems in Spain instead of trying to oppress us they could deal with their own problems!

It is very hypocritical to try and blame the crisis and drug smuggling to be due to Gibraltar!
