Finally The Royal Navy, THe Royal Gibraltar Police and The Defence Police Stand up against the SPANISH armed paramilitary Guardia Civil in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters!

Finally we have had action at sea in standing up to the bullying from SPAIN! Today the Royal Navy, OUr Royal Gibraltar Police and The Defence Police did their job! They stopped the spanish para military Guradia Civil trying to exercise control in our waters!

What a great momentum! We all feel so proud of all of those who risked their lives today to protect us all from the bullying tactics from SPAIN!

It was an honour for once to see such bravery in action! These brave people were at long last allowed off the invisible leash from the Foreign Office to now enforce the law and protect the integrity of our waters! I can tell you that this was not an easy task at all for them or their families who knew and could see what was going on!

Below is a video coverage - courtesy Tommy Finlayson who was one eagle eye witness to the going ons today! -

Below are some photos taken by Tommy Finlayson that capture the dangerous situations faced today at sea!

There's been a serious incident at sea this morning, when a Spanish Guardia Civil launch performed what official sources have described as 'dangerous manoeuvres' in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters.

Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) and Gibraltar defence Police (GDP) launches had formed a cordon around a tug-boat which was dumping concrete blocks in the sea by the runway in a continuation of yesterday's operation to create an artificial reef for the Department of the Environment, that was cut short, also by the Guardia Civil.

The incursion had began at around seven thirty this morning, when Spanish fishing boats started fishing in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, accompanied by a Guardia Civil vessel.

The drama then moved off the runway, reaching a climax at around 10:30 when the Spanish Fishing boats and Civil Guard launches appeared to breach a cordon made up of Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) Gibraltar defence Police (GDP) launches and Royal Navy Patrol Boats protecting the tug-boat as it dropped cement blocks into the sea.

Three Spanish vessels were present, the Rio Tormes, Rio Cedena and a rigid inflatable. The Royal Navy Squadron issued four warnings, which were ignored. The tug-boat finished its operation at around midday, always escorted by RGP vessels and the Royal Navy. The Guardia Civil by this stage was keeping a safe distance, shadowing
the three fishing boats.

The Tug continued their job in laying the concrete blocks to ensure we have some reefs.
All LAW ENforcers were untied in the stand to stop Spanish Guradia Civil interfering with what happens in our British Waters!
Our Pride today is clear - well done lads!

So the work continued!

And the bullies stayed out of it all FINALLY!!!!

Here you can see the blatant confrontation between Spanish GC to our RGP vessel!

 But the works continued!
Our Law Enforcers doing their job in protecting the tug so they could do their job paid by our government - setting up reefs.
Well done RGP
Finally the proud work being done

AND our Royal Navy and our Defence Police - great job and well done guys!
I am sure we all join in our thanks from a very avid Defender of Gibraltar - Tommy Finlayson
"I wish to congratulate RGP, GDP and Royal Navy, Tug Elliot and the the workers on the barge for what must have been a very hard day for them and what a day it's been!

I witnessed real tense moments when the Spanish fishing boats and Guardia Civil vessels attempted to stop the contractors from carrying out their work. They thought that by putting themselves in front of the path of the barge they would put a stop it and despite a lot of repositioning on both sides, the local authorities, all working as one team managed to keep control and show determination to the point when the Guardia decided to use their common sense and rein in the fishing boats and retreat back to their waters.

Well done to all concerned."
So on behalf of all of Gibraltar Well done to you all and we are proud of you and join in celebrating your unleashing from the long time you have been held captivate and in restraint by UK Government and the FCO!
