Gibraltar Pride 2014 - July we celebrate with pride the togetherness we enjoy in Gibraltar along with our ability to embrace diversity and equality. 

 

Description

 

Gibraltar Pride 2014 - Our vision is to include at various events as many different sectors of the community as possible, in a celebration for all, that places Gibraltar on the map as an example of a community that co-exists with strong ties and solidarity. 

 

Our events will be focused on measures which contribute to greater togetherness. We want to make this a celebration of our individualities whilst embracing and sharing pride in our older generations, our physically and mentally challenged citizens, our young, our diverse cultures, our ethnic groups, our LGBT communities, our different faiths, and other sectors who may wish to come forward to celebrate in peace and understanding.

In a time where it seems division reigns we need to unite as human beings no matter who we are - our size, shape, religion, colour or nationality.

 

We need to realise that first we are human beings! Above all that we are all the same! Who are we to judge what is perfect or right.

 

We all have eyes to see, heart to feel, hands to touch and ears to listen. We need to unite in diversity as a people and as a country!

 

We can stand up for our rights together and not in isolation! We need to stand up for all humanity not just those who are our friends or those that are easy to identify with. We are all equal no matter our status in life, our health or morals.

 

 

Whilst we in Defenders of Gibraltar believe in standing up to the Bullying from SPAIN - we do believe we all have a voice, a choice and a right to stand up for what we believe.

We stand up against any form of bullying and believe in helping each other stand up for our rights!

So I urge people to support this event as we are known for our diversity and humanity - we are agaisnt discrimination in any way - shape or form!
