So much hope was given to us when we learnt that our new Governor Sir James Dutton was an ex marine! But the sad reality is that it means NOTHING" Once again our FCO office has tied down the hands of what should be our protector in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters!
As if it is not enough that Spanish paramilitaries and spanish fishermen have no respect for our laws or what is our waters - we have an outright incursion by the Spanish Navy!
Why should we the people of Gibraltar have to put up with the continuos defiance by another country in NATO?
Is it acceptable that our neighbouring country just because it is bigger than us can treat us in this way?
We need our UK Government to really stop playing games with us as a people and finally do their job properly! We are British Citizens not a third world class of people and we deserve the same or more stand in protecting us as they have done to our fellowmen in the Falklands - we may not have oil or petrol by we are 30,000 British Citizens and who need UK to stop playing the game of words!
I can assure you that no one else in any other country would put up with what we do! Enough is enough! Roar like the Lion we knew!

Spanish Navy ignores territorial boundaries & flouts international standards

The
UK Government will be filing another official complaint in Madrid after
the latest illegal incursion into British Gibratlar Territorial Waters
by the Spanish Navy.
The 90 metre long patrol boat Infanta Cristina entered Gibraltar waters on the eastside of the Rock at about 11:00 on Thursday morning.
Although
English is the language of the sea, when contacted by the Royal Navy,
the Spanish navy vessel responded in Spanish that she was in Spanish
waters.
She was escorted by the Royal Navy's HMS Sabre until she exited Gibraltar waters south of Europa Point.
A source
close to the Convent said the Infanta Cristina changed her course a
number of times while in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters. The
incident has been recorded as an “affront to British sovereignty”.*****************************************************

Finally UK Government are allowing the naval ships from UK to hold open days to the public in which people can visit the war ships just like they do in other UK territories - even in Malta!
