Defenders of GIbraltar at Sea!

Our Venture at Sea.

Many have asked us why have we done our venture at sea. The answer is simple as a pressure group we have to many times put action with our words! It is not enough to be Facebook warriors or twitter people - to put pressure does sometimes does require some action that will get the facts correct.

Many UK journalists comment that the photos that are taken by many from our Rock does not do justice to our cause. This is due to the fact that people who know nothing about Gibraltar do not understand the issue enough via the photos!
One of the main complaints from around the world, is that they assume, as most -  if not all photos taken show Spain's mainland in the background. This leads people to incorrectly assume that the waters "they" as in the illegal incursions by the Spanish Paramilitary Guardia Civil do - are Spanish waters!

So our main aim was to show that the so called "innocent passage"  (are what we all know is not) but are incursions in our British Gibraltar Territorial Waters! So a few of the committee very bravely took on the challenge to venture out to sea! We had a supporter who offered to take us to the main route that the Guardia Civil do in our waters so that we could take some photos to show Our Rock and Our waters!

Not such an easy task as we had only one boat and needed to get the photos from another position to capture our boat and our beautiful Rock of Gibraltar behind us! So we opted for a small inflatable dingy the size of a rubber ring. This was very funny but effective to say the very least and gave us the great results we wanted.

We achieved our goal and with great success and with more photos from more supporters of the Defenders of Gibraltar!

The first attempt of doing the photograph was hilarious as our CHairman's attempt to take the photo caught his feet in the picture hahaha

 

So we got him to repeat more and as he made his manoeuvre we caught some good photos of him.

 





 


At one point we did have one scary moment! While our Chairperson was getting into position he spotted the Spanish Para Military Guardia Civil come straight towards us - as we all got to emergency mode - we brought Gareth in by the boat just in case. Thankfully the Guardia Civil decided to steer away from us as the pics below show! SO we were very happy indeed to continue on our aim to get the much needed photos.

Our Waters - Our Rock!


We had an added extra the wonderful opportunity to capture a Cruise Liner in our Waters and in our Port!

 So all in all a great achievement and a great success! We now have photos to show Our Waters - Our Rock along the so called route that the Spanish Guardia Civil - the para military keep doing as illegal incursions in our waters as if we do not have any rights to WATERS!

So now is this enough proof to show our UK Government and the FCO to wake up and face the truth that Spain must be stopped! No more incursions in our waters! Enough is Enough!

We will continue to put the pressure on and we will find many more ways to do this! We will until UK accept their responsibility as per our constitution - PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF BRITISH GIBRALTAR TERRITORIAL WATERS!

MR HAGUE, MR CAMERON, MR LIDDINGTON, OUR GOVERNOR SIR ADRIAN JOHNS - YOU MUST ALL DO YOUR DUTY!

Enough of excuses and restraint and more protecting like you do for the FALKLAND ISLANDS! We ask no more and no less than that!
