Why is UK, FCO and Our Governor are so quiet about the recent Spanish Military AIR INCURSION done by SPAIN?

Why is UK, FCO and Our Governor are so quiet about the recent Spanish Military  AIR INCURSION done by SPAIN?

For the last week I have been asking myself as to why this sudden silence from our Foreign Office department, our UK Government and even by Our Governor Sir Adrian Johns!

Why is it that these people are not challenging and making the noise as they made with the Jet SKI incident? This is diplomatic silencing if ever I saw one!

I think the person who has the video of the air incursions of the not one jet but four - starts to make it available on you tube! It was because of the videos we knew people had that finally we had all t hose above protest to SPAIN about the Jet Ski incident.

So I urge the person in question to please either make it public or let me do it! These incidents must not be swept under the carpet but must be made public worldwide for all to see how much bullying and breaking all peaceful relationships with Gibraltar and UK!

I am but disgusted by the way SPAIN is behaving but more sickened by the behaviour of FCO, UK Government and our Governor as our Queens representative in not stating the truth to the people of Gibraltar.

The reality is all the above responsible are appeasing to SPAIN again through diplomacy that we already know has not worked to date!

Four Spanish air force Matador jets entered Gibraltar's airspace from the northwest on Wednesday while apparently on their way to an aircraft carrier that was about 12 nautical miles southeast of the territory, the government of Gibraltar said in a statement.

"At no time did the aircraft make contact with Gibraltar's air-traffic control and the Spanish air traffic authorities in Seville gave no warning of the aircrafts' approach," it said.

Air traffic controllers in Seville delayed the departure from Gibraltar of a British Airways flight to London for 12 minutes until it was safe for it to take off, the statement added.

The government of Gibraltar has called on Britain "to take up the matter of this military incursion into the airspace of Gibraltar at the highest diplomatic and military levels."

Now the Jet SKi incident - let us all remember that SPAIN and its Government denied it - until we threatened to publish the evidence and then our Police published it!

Last week British Prime Minister David Cameron protested to his Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy at a meeting of European Union leaders in Brussels over allegations that Spanish police fired shots at a jet ski in the contested waters around Gibraltar.

"I think this is a totally unacceptable episode and I made that clear. I think it is very important that people on Gibraltar know that we support them, we support their sovereignty. We need to find out more about what happened but from what I have heard...it is not acceptable," he told a news conference at the EU leaders' meeting, according a statement from the government of Gibraltar.

Madrid has flatly denied accusations that Spanish military-linked Guardia Civil police fired shots while chasing a jet ski on June 23 in waters off Gibraltar and it has criticised Britain for giving credence to rumours.
A Spanish foreign office spokesman said an incident involving a jet ski did take place but that no shots were fired.

In November, Spain and Britain summoned each other's ambassadors in a spat over a series of naval incidents around the small but strategically situated territory.

Britain has held Gibraltar since 1713 but Spain wants it returned and refuses to recognise British sovereignty over the waters off the land known as 'the Rock'.

So when you think about the Jet Ski SHOOTING INcident in our Waters and how all was made public - I challenge the person of the video to please for the sake of Gibraltar publish the video on you tube - even anonymously! If not give me permission and I will!

Eyewitnesses described seeing the jets pass very close to the Rock in an incident described by military personnel as 'being buzzed'.

'The Government of Gibraltar has called on the UK to take up the matter of this military incursion into the airspace of Gibraltar at the highest diplomatic and military levels,' said a government spokesman

A foreign office official added: 'We have raised this with London and Madrid.'
The jets are understood to have come from a Spanish aircraft carrier, Juan Carlos I, based about 10 miles from the Rock.
Spanish Defence Ministry deny that Spanish fighter jets entered Gibraltar airspace.
A Gibraltar government spokesman said: 'At no time did the aircraft make contact with Gibraltar's air-traffic control and the Spanish air traffic authorities in Seville gave no warning of the aircrafts' approach.'
The incident comes just days after Prime Minister David Cameron complained to his Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy over an incident in which a British jet skier was allegedly shot at by Spanish police in the waters surrounding the Rock.

So the question to FCO, UK Government and our Governor are you calling the people of Gibraltar LIARS?

Shame on you all - to appease to SPAIN is to blatantly disregard the truth and in so doing call us LIARS!

We stand for truth and justice and you stand for lies and diplomacy! Appease to the bully at the detrimental of Gibraltar and its people! Despicable behaviour from you all!

INCURSION INTO GIBRALTAR'S AIRSPACE – GOVERNMENT CALLS FOR ACTION

This morning, four ‘Matador’ aircraft of the Spanish Air Force entered Gibraltar’s airspace from the north-west. It is believed that the aircraft were flying towards the Juan Carlos 1 aircraft carrier which, at the time, was about 12 nautical miles southeast of the Rock.
At no time did the aircraft make contact with Gibraltar’s air-traffic control and the Spanish air-traffic authorities in Seville gave no warning of the aircrafts’ approach. However, Seville then held back the outgoing BA flight for 12 minutes at Gibraltar airport until it was safe for it to take off.

Anger as Spanish jets ‘buzz’ Gibraltar

by Brian Reyes

Britain and Spain faced another round of diplomatic tension last night after four Spanish jets “buzzed” the Rock yesterday, causing delay to a commercial flight.
Eyewitnesses said the Matador jets flew in from behind Los Barrios and very close to the north end of the Rock.

But Britain’s Ministry of Defence played down the incident and insisted there was no evidence to suggest the Spanish planes entered Gibraltar airspace.

Either way, the planes flew close enough to generate alarm and prompt an angry response from the Gibraltar Government.
“The Government of Gibraltar has called on the UK to take up the matter of this military incursion into the airspace of Gibraltar at the highest diplomatic and military levels,” No.6 Convent Place said in a statement. British officials in the Convent have already taken up the matter.

“We have raised this with London and Madrid,” a Convent spokesman said.

Conflicting reports
There are two versions of yesterday’s incident.

Officials believe Spanish military assets operating in the area are increasingly approaching the Rock to “clip the edges” of Gibraltar’s territorial jurisdiction and make their presence felt.

The concern is that yesterday’s incident was an aerial version of Spanish incursions detected at sea.

“They were buzzing us,” one source said.

The second version of yesterday’s incident, however, is that it was the innocent by-product of a Spanish military exercise in the Strait of Gibraltar, and that there was no incursion.

The four planes – the Spanish version of the Harrier jet – were flying back to the Spanish aircraft carrier Juan Carlos I, which was on a training exercise about 10 miles southeast off the Rock.

The jets approached the Rock from the northwest before turning east out into the Mediterranean and south toward the ship.

One source described this as “last-minute avoiding action”.

BA delayed

On the tarmac in Gibraltar, the outbound British Airways flight was delayed by 12 minutes.

The Gibraltar Government claimed that the Spanish planes did not contact air traffic control in Gibraltar.

Likewise No.6 Convent Place added that Seville controllers did not warn their Gibraltar counterparts of the jets’ approach.

But that was at odds with the account provided by the MoD, which has ultimate responsibility for air traffic control here. In a statement, Headquarters British Forces said the BA flight was “…held on the runway for approximately 12 minutes by Air Traffic Control in Seville to allow Spanish aircraft to pass by in Spanish air space.”

“There is no evidence to suggest that the aircraft flew

into Gibraltar air space,” it added.

Spanish jets buzz Gibraltar

BRITAIN and Spain were plunged into a fresh round of diplomatic tension after four Spanish jets allegedly flew into Gibraltar airspace
The Matador jets were described as flying very close to the north end of the Rock. A British Airways flight was delayed by 12 minutes.
The Gibraltar Government reacted angrily to what they described as another incursion into British territory. This comes soon after the incident of the Guardia Civil shooting at a Gibraltarian jet ski and a Spanish patrol boat sailing into Gibraltarian waters the following day.
“The Government of Gibraltar has called on the UK to take up the matter of this military incursion into the airspace of Gibraltar at the highest diplomatic and military levels,” No.6 Convent Place said in a statement. British officials in the Convent have already taken up the matter.
Britain’s Ministry of Defense, however, said that they had no evidence that the Spanish planes had entered Gibraltar airspace. In a statement, Headquarters British Forces said the BA flight was “…held on the runway for approximately 12 minutes by Air Traffic Control in Seville to allow Spanish aircraft to pass by in Spanish air space.”
“There is no evidence to suggest that the aircraft flew into Gibraltar air space,” it added.

Spain is currently holding a military exercise in the Mediterranean, and the aircraft were returning to the aircraft carrier Juan Carlos I.

Spanish military 'incursion' prompts diplomatic protests

Author: GBC
Date: 03 July 2013 at 06:37

Formal diplomatic protests are in the pipeline again following what has been described by the Gibraltar Government as a Spanish Air Force’s military incursion into Gibraltar airspace.
Eyewitnesses have told GBC four Spanish military aircract flew directly over the Rock on Wedensday morning.
The incident delayed a British Airways outgoing flight by twelve minutes. However, British Forces Gibraltar has declared there is no evidence to suggest the planes flew into Gibraltar Airspace.

A morning flight to Heathrow was held on the runway for twelve minutes by Seville air traffic control at around ten minutes to eleven. The delay was linked to the flight paths of four Spanish Matador aircraft, exercising aboard the aircraft carrier Juan Carlos, operating some ten to twelve nautical miles off the East of the Rock. Those are the undisputed facts, but at that point, the story diverges into two different versions.
The Gibraltar Government says the aircraft entered Gibraltar airspace from the Northwest. It says at no time did they make contact with Gibraltar’s air traffic contril, and Seville gave no warning of their approach. It calls on the UK to take up the matter of this military incursion at the highest diplomatic and military levels.
British Forces Gibraltar however denies the aircraft flew into Gibraltar airspace, and the BA flight was held by Seville to allow the planes to pass by in Spanish airspace. A spokesperson said they approached the Rock from the North West, and turned to the East to avoid Gibraltar during descent.
Spain's Ministry of Defence also denies that an incursion took place, but - interestingly - the language used in their statement implicitly recognises Gibraltar's airspace.
Eyewitnesses have told GBC they saw the planes fly over the Rock itself.
