Some more letters to show feeling in Gibraltar

 What is happening?

People are fed up of the lack of action by the Royal Navy, FCO and RGP and our Government. Those in the position of power are losing credibility fast.

Questions people are asking are:

Why is the law nto applied to the fishingmen by our RGP?
Where is the fishing report?
What has FCO done about the feeling of ten thousand people who signed the petition?
Why is the Governor doing nothing?
Is everyone in power waiting for an international incident?
Does DOG or others need to go out at sea to enforce the law?
Where is the opposition on this?
How can the people show more disgust than they currently do at this situation wher ethe law does NOT apply to all!

OUR PEACE AND SECURITY ARE BEING THREATENED!!!
The United Nations was set up to "stop wars between countries" and here we are today with a discredited extreme right-wing Spanish government

Dear Sir

I cannot for the life of me understand how the Spanish dispute over
Gibraltar could ever have been allowed to see the light of day at the United Nations in the 1960s, when the idiotic sovereignty claim came from none other than a disgusting dictator.

Did the United Nations not know Gibraltar was ceded in perpetuity? What else can there possibly be to argue about?
The United Nations was set up to "stop wars between countries" and here we are today with a discredited extreme right-wing Spanish government (more extremist than its founder, Franco, and as discredited), with the most embarrassing track record of alleged fraud, one which reneges on agreements and spoiling for a fight they will eventually find.
How can the Spanish claim on Gibraltar by what can only be described as coming from people with no good intentions, be taken seriously at any international forum of any sort, and should Spanish politicians not be expelled from such bodies until they act in a democratic manner and respect international laws?
The francoist ruling party in Spain has even given rise to their own judges having to resort to form an "Asociacion de Jueces para la Democracia" (Association of Judges for Democracy) given the erosion of their immature democracy.

As far as Gibraltar is concerned, when are the constant incursions going to be brought to the attention of the United Nations Security Council?
OUR PEACE AND SECURITY ARE BEING THREATENED!!!
When is the sovereignty claim going to be dismissed when everyone by now must know Gibraltar was ceded in perpetuity and there is nothing to talk about, and when is someone going to challenge the stupid EU erroneous designation of our waters in ignorance that Spain had signed the United Nations Conventions on the Law of the Seas?
 The senselessness of it all!
When is somebody going to wake up from the drunken stupor and put an end to this?

 Yours faithfully

 Isabella Caruana

Comment from our Spokesperson Gareth Gingell after the incident we had yesterday with our own RGP beding backwards to please Guardia Civil!

4/02/13

Today members of the Defenders of Gibraltar deployed to the Frontier after reported queues in excess of 2 hours. Leaflets were distributed and photographs were taken of the Guardia Civil, who had been harassing and insulting 2 female members and 1 male member of the DoG through the fence.

In all fairness, this comes with the role - when the Defenders of Gibraltar deploy to the frontier they fully expect harassment from the Guardia Civil. We simply take it in our stride and hold the moral higher ground by keeping silent and simply responding with a click of the camera lens.

However today has been slightly troubling. During queues in excess of 2 hours, the 3 DoG members were approached by a member of the RGP (who shall remain nameless) who had received a complaint by the Guardia Civil. The individual requested that the members of the Defenders of Gibraltar move away from the fence area and distribute leaflets, saying that the queues could be our fault. The individual himself confirmed that it was the Guardia Civil who had complained - indeed it seemed the whole troop of Guardia Civil members had come out of the office fully expecting to see us off. Needless to say, we reiterated the simple fact that we were peacefully documenting and that no laws were being broken as included in previous legal advice we had obtained. The legal advice we have received previously is the reason we wear high visibility vests and have an earmark for the circumstances when we deploy to the frontier.

Now I don't know about you, but when there are queues of 2 hours at 2030 hours on a Monday night, the escalation is already there and the illegal restriction of frontier flow needs to be documented in the appropriate manner. Needless to say we stood our ground peacefully and continued by the fence after explaining that no laws were being broken to the individual form the RGP. This is a worrying development - RGP bending over to made up complaints from the Guardia Civil? Worrying indeed......

To reiterate our strategy:

NO QUEUES = NO PHOTOS

Anne-Marie Struggles

Monday, 4 February 2013

Today we saw Spain's bullying in Full swing!

Today's bullying came by not only at Sea but also by land in form of queues!

We had more fishermen fishing illegally and the Guardia Civil provoking as always.
But we had Frontier Queues also today.
We have not had queues this long for cars for some time now! We have seen a couple of bad days for motor bikes but all in all Spain has behaved. Well until today!

So Defenders of Gibraltar were there to keep to our message - Short and Sweet and to the point!

NO QUEUES = NO PHOTOS!

Today the queues were 2 hours and in fact we were there for over 3 hours until the queues had gone.

Let me stress that today we were also harassed by the Guardia Civil and Policia Nacional! They came up to the fence to take photos and to intimidate us!

We did not lower to that threats we continued to monitor and capture how they create the queues and found it due to searching the green lane!

About a half an hour or more later we get a visit from our RGP asking us to move after we discussed that we were not breaking any laws we stayed put! We had to as we had now an audience of Guardia Civils starring and enjoying the RGP talking to us. We live in a democracy and are a peaceful  pressure group and our message is clear! No Queues = No Photos!
*************

Our Audience that came to watch our RGP visit to tell us to move! So as we were not breaking any laws we showed true democracy in action - we stayed and continued to take photos of how they create queues by searching in the green lane!

So we did what we do as a pressure group and applied the pressure and reminded the Guardia Civils and Policia Nacional that we have not gone away and we will always be here if they continue to cause queues on purpose!

However, the whole situation with our RGO left a bitter taste in our palate! We who do not break the law had a talking to but we have FISHERMEN FISHING ILLEGALLY EVERY SINGLE DAY AND NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT!

IF that is not antagonizing the people of Gibraltar then what is?

Why try to intimidate a pressure group but do nothing about the illegal fishing and water incursions done by our neighbours in our waters?

People of Gibraltar - remember law is for all if not for none! Also please note and rest assured if there is no queue Defenders of Gibraltar are not there and do not take photos!

We stand by our motto - NO QUEUES EQUALS NO PHOTOS!

Panorama Report
RGP accuse Defenders of antagonising
Guardia Civil and to move away from
frontier!

PANORAMA exclusive
by Leo Olivero

On Monday evening the Guardia Civil decided to embark on yet another extensive and unnecessary search of vehicles leaving Gibraltar causing the usual traffic chaos and delay stretching all the way along Devil’s Tower Road and beyond.

As is now customary when traffic takes over an hour to cross the frontier, a situation that triggers the Defenders of Gibraltar (DOG) into action. They then descend on the frontier armed with photographic and recording equipment and information leaflets, which they hand out to stressed out motorists caught up in the traffic bedlam explaining to them exactly why all this is happening.

Panorama spoke with DOG who informed us that they had arrived at the frontier at about 6pm which by then traffic queues were over two hours long. DOG members then spread themselves out as usual, either distributing leaflets or standing by the frontier fence taking photographs particularly of the Guardia Civil who were stopping and searching most vehicles on the (so called nothing to declare) green lane.

DOG say that during this time the Guardia Civil commenced their now also customary intimidating and threatening tactics towards the group, with calling of names and then coming up close to the frontier and taking photos of DOG members with mobile phones, also some Guardia Civil officers also allegedly making obscene gestures towards group members.

Guardia Civil Complain To RGP – DOG Then Told To Move From Frontier

DOG informed us that at one point an RGP inspector approached the group and informed them that they were ‘antagonising the situation at the frontier and told them to move away from the area of the frontier fence’. Dog informed Panorama that they flatly told the police that they would not move. At which point DOG members noticed that as the police inspector was talking to them a group of about 6 to 8 Guardia Civil officers had huddled in a group attentively watching the RGP talking to the group.

The group then asked the RGP officer if they had received a complaint from the Guardia Civil to which the RGP officer confirmed that they had, saying that if DOG moved away the queues would move faster because their presence was antagonising the Guardia Civil!

DOG informed Panorama that they were annoyed at the RGP because all they were doing was to peacefully monitor the occurrences at the frontier, keeping their integrity throught-out, they were not violent at all or breaking any laws. Unlike the Guardia Civil who had constantly threatened them (as they normally do) all night.

The Defenders of Gibraltar also felt a sense of indignance towards the police were all official and quick off of the mark to move them away (for doing nothing) from the frontier because the Guardia Civil of all people complained to them of their presence. But say that when the Guardia Civil themselves are committing and breaking laws the RGP are happy to put up with and do nothing themselves to stem the daily infringements to locals laws by the Spanish fishermen and Guardia Civil out in the bay and at the eastside.

DOG did say that the same officer who had told them to leave the frontier area on Monday night was the same one who in a similar incident in Nov/Dec had also verbally clashed with the group - for exactly the same reason!

I remember writing about that the previous incident late last year and warning or advising the police to tread carefully in the current circumstances. And now, the situation is much tenser then it was, say, 2 or 3 months ago.

People Think Spaniards Have An Amnesty To Break Local Laws!

Many people believe the Police, Government and Convent/Foreign Office have actually given the Spanish Fishermen and the Guardia Civil some kind of amnesty to break all local laws.

Personally I have said countless times that I understood the politics behind the policing aspect to this issue. But unofficial amnesties cause general condemnation whoever they are, as the implications are too stark: an individual(s) breaks the law, which binds us all, and then is let off from the consequences of the breach. That is unjust on two tests: treating equals unequally and not punishing a breach!

The law applies to all but, if the authorities/executive or as in this case politics intervene and then make it not apply to only some, it creates a situation that can’t be good.

People question why the Executive should do that. We worry about the lesson this teaches those in our society with a propensity to disregard the law. We also importantly worry about the reputation of Gibraltar in the eyes of other democratic countries when laws are being openly broken and nothing is being done about it.

We all assume that laws bind everyone to maintain equality, harmony, predictability and, ultimately, justice. At the moment, Gibraltar laws are not being applied equally for whatever (political) reason. This in my opinion cannot go on for much longer or indefinitely, because some how some way ‘the sleeping social monster will awake’ .

If those people or entities here in Gibraltar or the UK cannot see the potential of a serious backlash from society - then they are not reading the same radar I am presently monitoring!

Water Incursions - Panorama Newspaper reports

Panorama Newspaper in Gibraltar covers Water Incursion problems

We seem to have many articles written but not a lot of action forthcoming. Below is a letter and then a few reports written recently to give as much information as possible.

Monitoring season
Dear Sir,

The strange thing about news is when nothing is said or written, however we cannot say the same as to the daily incursions into BGTW.
I have been at pains to find out when the monitoring season begins and ends but no success, having said this I have nevertheless been able to ascertain the dates for game shooting, which runs in some cases from August through to February depending on the species, the only common denominator is that in shooting it involves the use of guns, from what one can gather in the monitoring game it very much depends on the stock of paper and I am not going to specify which kind.
I trust that the FCO will get down from their high horse ‘pronto’ and stop procrastinating, otherwise the Quixotic Nation will continue to gather momentum in imposing her illegal acts as being the interpretation of International Laws.

Yours faithfully,
W.L.Chamberland.

Guardia Civil now target local port users: Bland
vessel accosted in British Gibraltar waters!

SPECIAL REPORT
By Leo Olivero
In another serious example how the Guardia Civil continue to stamp their authority and jurisdictional control in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, and following the incident of only a few days ago where they took executive action stopping a pleasure boat close to the detached mole, yesterday the same Spanish paramilitary forces targeted another area of our waters this time when they forcibly attempted to accost a local vessel belonging to one of Gibraltar’s principal stevedoring companies MH Bland.

Panorama was informed that yesterday morning one of MH Bland’s workboats the Swordfish was proceeding to the North Anchorage Opposite the Runway Area to service a locally based bunkering vessel. When the local vessel was nearing the anchored vessel a Guardia Civil launch suddenly appeared behind the Bland’s vessel at the same time demanding it to stop. The local vessel did not stop and continued to its schedule destination.

We are also reliably informed that on arriving by the anchored locally based vessel ,who we understand belongs to local bunkering operators Aegean Bunkering Gibraltar , the Swordfish as is customary attempted to manoeuvre alongside. At this point the Guardia Civil launch in what was described as a hostile and illegal manner (particularly as it was happening in BGTW) attempted to get alongside the Swordfish, the Spanish GC officers at this point making preparations to board the local vessel.
However, on seeing what was about to happen, the master of the Swordfish accelerated and pulled away from the close confrontation and dangerous contact that was about to happen, leaving the area and reporting the matter to the local authorities.

A GDP vessel was later seen in conversation with the said Guardia Civil vessel.
This incident is no more serious than the daily incursions of the GC into our waters. Although there is an important difference, in that now it seems the Guardia Civil are turning their attention to an important area of Gibraltar’s Port Activity - Our Port Users And With It The Rock’s Economy!

It clearly looks as if the Spanish Authorities not only have instructions to enter local waters at-will, but also to exercise jurisdictional control and now it seems to disrupt the safe and effective services of the Port of Gibraltar.
I suspect we shall now hear, that this is considered of Deep Concern and a Serious Incident – words or phrases which by the day are quickly losing their intended meaning - because the situation has now gone beyond all that!

How far will the UK Government allow Spain to consolidate and strengthen its position in BGTW before it actually does something useful is anyone’s guess.
However, the uninspiring approach and the total lack of an effective policy by the Foreign Office, to combat the daily threat to British sovereignty of our waters , has clearly provided Spain with the required impetus and momentum to continue pushing these illegal barriers further and closer to our shores.

Only a few years ago the British Foreign Secretary, replied through a spokesman after the previous government asked for reinforcement at sea, saying ‘The Royal Navy is already present on the Rock and their role is well defined’

This is quite true the RN presence in Gibraltar is clearly defined why shouldn’t the Gibraltar Squadron be ready to support us. With a mission statement that says that the Gib Squadron “is to contribute to the maritime defence and security of Gibraltar and, where necessary, the prosecution of offensive maritime operations in order to allow British Forces Gibraltar to support military operations as directed by Her Majesty’s Government.”

It’s no good the British Government telling the people of Gibraltar that the Royal Navy’s role on the Rock is well defined if they from London are holding back the only UK military response to the growing Spanish aggression and threat to territorial waters.

As I said at the end of my article yesterday - WTF IS HAPPENING?

Governor raises unlawful incursion with Europe
minister

The Governor is aware of the recent unlawful incursions, including yesterday morning, by Spanish Guardia Civil vessel Rio Cedena. The Guardia Civil yesterday attempted to exercise jurisdiction over a working vessel inside BGTW. This follows Tuesday’s unlawful attempt by the Guardia Civil to exercise jurisdiction over a pleasure boat in BGTW.

The Governor said: ‘These continuing actions by Spain are a matter of deep concern. The recent increased level of unlawful incursions into BGTW by the Guardia Civil is an unwelcome and unacceptable escalation of what is already a difficult situation. The recent petition I received was a potent reflection of the depth of feeling in Gibraltar. I continue to liaise closely with the Chief Minister and HM Government of Gibraltar in relation to these events.

'The Convent has ensured that my views on these recent developments and attempts by Spanish State vessels to exercise jurisdiction are raised directly with the Minister for Europe.’

Warnings were read by the Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron and the vessel departed BGTW. The British Embassy Madrid will make an immediate formal protest with the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs about today’s incident.

Then and now, the Foreign Office appeasers
win the day to the detriment of Gibraltar

PANORAMIC VIEW
by JOE GARCIA
How true that history tends to repeat itself. The weakness being displayed by the Foreign Office as regards the current threat on an issue of sovereignty is similar to their posture in the 1960s when the Franco regime imposed a series of escalating restrictions that culminated with the full closure of the frontier.

Then, and now, there were calls for effective action but the appeasers within the four walls of the Foreign Office won the day - and Gibraltar suffered 20 years of hardship.

The question now emerges if UK inaction will simply encourage the Spanish government to escalate their sovereignty claim to British Gibraltar territorial waters.
A previous Governor once said to me, as he pointed at a map, that Gibraltar was a small dot, and that wider issues often came into play affecting what the Foreign Office might be prepared to consider.

When I asked another Governor why Britain would not utilise in Gibraltar's favour her position in the European Union, as the Spaniards did in respect of advancing their own position against the Rock, he said that Britain did not like to be seen to be taking advantage of their EU position - presumably because 'gentlemen' are not meant to behave in such fashion!

I could say some of the many other things I have heard within The Convent, where they often feel as exasperated as Gibraltarians do about Foreign Office inaction, but what I have already mentioned suffices to make manifest why a so-called 'friend, ally and partner' behaves on a different wavelength.

Foreign Office mandarins are well versed in history, often based on acts perpetrated by their own forerunners, and surmise that possession is nine-tenth of the law, which means in today's predicament that if Spain persists in behaving as if Gibraltar's waters belonged to them, their position can only be bolstered.

In fact, if you read some of the conclusions by the International Court of Justice about territorial claims elsewhere, you will quickly find that the country seen to have been administering a disputed area has much to gain in acquiring that disputed area.

Taking a leaf from the Foreign Office book, those in the Palacio de Santa Cruz are clearly seeking to establish that there is a dispute in the waters that surround the Rock - and that they have been exercising jurisdiction and control over them, while the Foreign Office has remained engulfed in their impassive stance, as if they did not care.

In the sixties, the Spanish had a plan, which was to squeeze Gibraltar to the point of surrender, or that is what they thought they could achieve.
So, their plan unfolded as any Gibraltarian school child at the time could have told the grown-ups at the Foreign Office. But the Foreign Office adopted a one-way dialogue of the deaf, espousing the kind of words and phrases they knew Gibraltarians would like to hear, while in effect they did nothing concrete about resolving the problem.

Right now, the Spanish have a plan about Gibraltar's territorial waters, and given that the Foreign Office remains impassive, they will seek to escalate the problem in the knowledge that no obstacles of substance will come their way.

Thus, Foreign Office policy will simply be encouraging that, like a snowball, the problem will grow to the point where a solution will not be easier, but more difficult.
It has happened in the past and it could happen again. Is it not high time that Gibraltar mobilized its forces?

Spanish vessels allowed to invade our waters
with impunity - on a daily basis!

By Leo Olivero
Like me, countless people are wondering just what the hell is happening with the fishing issue if actual fishing and breaking local laws are anything to go by, there is no doubt that nothing much is actually being done to stop this illegal practice in BGTW.

Fishing As Usual

Spanish fishing vessels are returning daily to local waters in packs to rake, fish, destroy and take away all the marine life they fancy. At the same time accompanied by the also illegal presence of the guardia civil who have become more then a regular feature in BGTW and who acutely appear to be establishing (in their mind at least) territorial control, especially in their on-going mission of protecting their fishermen in BGTW.

In effect, what the Guardia Civil are doing in their present task of protecting the fishermen is to blatantly take ‘Executive Action’ and at the same time Exercise Jurisdiction and Control in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters. It’s no more than that.

Clear Similarities Between Current Dispute and The One in 1999

I have been writing about this matter in Panorama practically none stop for nearly 10 ten years. Not only that, but as most readers know I have personal experience from a senior officer policing perceptive regarding this issue as I was directly involved and commanded the policing response of the 1999 version of the so called fishing dispute.

There appears to be similarities emerging between what transpired in 1998/9 to what is unfolding at present - not only from a ‘Policing Aspect’ but also from a ‘Political One’

In this sense, the fishing situation in my opinion not only appears to be deteriorating but it is becoming confused. Illegal fishing now appears to be explicitly allowed by the local authorities who it seems, do not appear to be doing anything at all to put a stop to it, in line with current government policy. This latter point has become not only contentious but a very confusing one for members of the public.

Police Say No Arrests or Reports for Process In Last Two Months

We are witnessing a situation where law enforcement agencies, and there I include the RGP, GDP and the Royal Navy apparently arrive at a scene where local laws are being infringed by Spanish fishermen and do nothing and leave. In the case of the Guardia Civil, they are clear and blatant incursions into British territorial waters, yet nothing is effectively being done, to put a stop to such illegal activity.

Answering a question by Panorama an RGP spokesman confirmed that during the last two months there have been no arrests or anyone reported for process for contravening nature protection offences out at sea.

I have from the start or since March last year, when the government took the decision to annul the ‘illegal’ 1999 fishing agreement kept an open mind. I have largely supported most of what has been done and said by the government regarding their policy particularly their stand in wanting to uphold the 1991 Nature Protection Act that safeguards all marine habitats and species in BGTW.

It’s all very nice for Government to announce it will not allow laws (nature protection act) to be broken and-so-on and-so-forth, including that the Police are not controlled by government and are free to use their own discretion in enforcing applicable laws preventing the use of illegal fishing methods. But I have my own views on that!

In my mind, this is not happening; it is similar to 14 years ago in 1999!

‘Politics and Policing’ whether intentional or not (in 1999 it was certainly intentional) are again clashing with each other and making a dog’s dinner with what should be a straightforward process of keeping Gibraltar laws in check. At the end of the day policing and enforcing laws is pretty straightforward. You commit an offence, you are reported or arrested and then face the music in court. But when direct or indirect political influence gets into the mix problems start, believe me, policing in this scenario is not that straightforward at all! The latter comments I have said many times over the years.

To be fair to the police over the years they have been placed in a very difficult situation regarding this issue. Political influence over the police whether direct or intentional or not, is an important issue within the context of this matter.

In my opinion, the political aspect surrounding the fishing/sovereignty issue has taken priority over the vital policing enforcement aspect-making element. This creates a negative situation that hinders the police to make rational policing operational decisions based on those laws that have been broken and nothing else.

Convent’s Two-Tier Level of Concern

However from a Convent and Foreign Office perspective matters are just as confusing. The small pleasure boat incident we reported on where the GC vessel exerted jurisdiction and control in BGTW when it took executive action to stop the boat in question - An incident, which the foreign office people at the convent later described as a ‘Matter of Deep Concern’. This is no more ‘Deeply Concerning’ as the daily incursions by the guardia civil when they accompany the fishing vessels to literally exert the same authority in our waters. This has now become the norm and obviously, it seems, no one is deeply concerned about!

Personally, I feel that to a degree, My Intelligence is Being Insulted - we are being told one thing about laws and what have you, but another completely different situation is happening before our very eyes. The breaking of the nature protection laws will not be tolerated we are told but they are being not only tolerated but ignored - daily!

The Fishing Report What Next?

Frankly, I am concerned with respect to the FISHING REPORT whenever it is finally released. A situation has been allowed to develop regarding fishing and GC incursions, a situation in fact, that in my opinion will make it extremely difficult for whatever accompanying action plan the report has in store, particularly by way of protecting Gibraltar’s environmental and other laws in BGTW.

In November, the Spanish ambassador to London was summoned to the Foreign Office after the UK lodged a protest about Spanish warship that had entered territorial waters.

At the time David Lidington at the foreign office said he ‘condemned these provocative incursions and urged the Spanish government to ensure that they are not repeated.’ He also said “We remain confident of UK sovereignty over British Gibraltar territorial waters and fully committed to protecting the interests of the people of Gibraltar”

Well I can tell Mr. Lidington at the foreign office that incursions have not only been repeated, but have intensified daily. I can also tell the good Mr. Lidington that if what we are witnessing is the UK definition of effectively protecting our interest as he said late last year - THEN GOD HELP US!

Illegal Fishing Continued Yesterday!

The scenario was pretty much the same yesterday with four Spanish fishing vessels who again appeared on the eastern side and continued raking local waters for shellfish.

Ridiculously, these illegal fishing practices of raking, Spanish fishermen know they cannot do in their own national waters. This simply because laws in Spain do not allow it. They also know that if they do the Guardia Civil will arrest or fine them and confiscate their equipment. But these same fine guardia civil officers then accompany the fishermen to local waters to rake, rape and take away whatever they like from our waters and now, whilst the authorities here also sit and watch!

As They Say on Facebook ‘WTF’ is Happening?

Incursions and Cat and Mouse again!

Cat and mouse - if Governor and FCO do nothing we will have an international incident soon!

Our Committee Member Tommy Finalayson wrote:

Unbelievable what I have just witnessed, 12.20 GC RHIB and RN RHIB where both seen speeding in parallel courses to each other heading South in the bay. Spanish RHIB near the median line and RN at around 600 metres from our moles. The RN RHIB slowed down and came to a stop away from GC view behind a tanker. The GC RHIB all of a sudden changed course and headed straight to where the RN RHIB was and rocked them as they sped past as if to say go on chase me if you dare. The Guardia Civil sped off in the direction of the Port of Algeciras. The photos where taken immediately after it's cheeky challenge. The RN Rhib followed it up to the median line and then sped back to base. No radio warnings were given.

Wake up Commodore John Clink!

Anne-Marie Struggles

Incursions continue and nothing is done either by the Royal Navy or our Royal Gibraltar Police!

Lack of action is equal to not doing their job.

The more incursions that happen are not only bad due to the fact that Spain are still breaking our laws and bullying us - but worse is the fact that the Royal Navy and our own Police are losing credibility and respect by our society.
Our Royal Gibraltar Police work very hard and risks their lives each and every time they go out and cannot do anything! So the question is maybe they should not go out at all! This way they can stop the pretense of showing to do something when in reality - when was the last arrests!
The people of Gibraltar are fed up of the constant incursions in our waters and the outward disrespect for our laws!
This morning  we had another incursions by Spanish para military - Another GC incursion underway - Rio Tormes is this morning positioned off the Western Approaches.

Believe you me if this happened in Britain - something would have already been done! If this was the Falklands we would have already had an international escalation in place! We do not want a war - we want what is right!

We have our rightsWe have our voice and we have our choice! We all know that this boils down to SOVEREIGNTY! That is no more no less! We need to highlight cleanly that we have nothing against the people of Spain or even their country!

OUR ISSUE IS WITH THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT AND THE WAY THAT THEY CONTINUE TO BULLY US IN SO MANY WAYS!

This video captures their Para military personnel entering and trying to exercise Jurisdiction in our waters!

Why should we have to tolerate this no one else in the world would!

Everyone around the world need to know how we are harassed each day by all the means possible - slander, frontier queues, incursions in our waters, fishing illegally!

We have no issue with the poor FISHERMEN fishing in our waters - So long as they respect our laws! Our laws do not allow the racking of our sea beds! Our laws do not allow fishing by nets.

http://youtu.be/BqtEmOw3LFM - This video is not done by Defenders of Gibraltar but at least they agree they enter our waters!

Everyone around the world continue to have problems trying to control Spanish Fishermen:

Disputes - There have been constant disputes with Spain over fishing rights since 1973 when Morocco declared an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), resulting in a 70-nautical-mile (130 km) coastal fishing limit. This was extended to 200 nautical miles (370 km) in 1981.] In February 2012 it was reported that the Spanish Prime Minister was urging Morocco to negotiate an agreement about these differences.

1st February 2013 the incursions continue!

See how near the Spanish Fishing boat is. But we blame this on our law enforcement officers and the Royal Navy who day in and day out go on a merry go round and do NOTHING to enforce our laws at sea and to defend our territorial waters! What a carry on and piss taking someone those at the top are having a laugh at us and making our Police Officers and our Royal Navy look ridiculous in front of the Guardia civil and the Spanish fishermen! We say enough is enough!

In the meantime our Commodore is more interested about trying out golf courses in Spain than protecting the integrity of our British Territorial Waters! Our Commander of British Forces in Gibraltar is doing nothing to defend us! The paramilitary forces continue to invade and try to enforce jurisdiction in our WATERS!

Lack of action = more bullying

Lack of action only leads to more bullying from Spain

We have some cartoons and pictures to show our strength of feeling that no action is being done.

The people of Gibraltar deserve the same protection as the Falklands actually more-so as we are 30,000 British Citizens!

The continual action of words is equal to doing nothing at all! What is the respect being given to the people of Gibraltar that handed a petition of 10,000 signatures calling for more action?

Gibraltar belongs to the people of Gibraltar who wish to remain British but the British Government continue to ignore our pleas! Is Britain waiting until an international incident happens instead of avoiding it? There comes a time that a BULLY has to face the consequences and that is that they are not above the law and that there is such a word as DEMOCRACY and laws to be obeyed!
